Supply Chain Management Certificate

 

Course Overview:

This four-course certificate is developed to provide participants with both a solid cross-domain understanding of Supply Chain as well as an opportunity to go deeper in specific domains or techniques of interest. The flexibility of the certificate allows participants to broaden their skills and knowledge base while also achieving a specific noteworthy career accomplishment – obtaining a The Excellence Center Certificate. Each course can applied towards earning a Supply Chain Management Certificate. There are two core courses which are required and then participants choose two electives.

Course Objectives:

  • Develop inventory strategies to support business strategies

  • Evaluate how to tradeoff transportation and inventory costs

  • Determine how to optimize inventory levels to meet service requirements

  • Understand the basics of inventory and forecasting technology

  • Learn how to develop metrics that synchronize supply chain and logistics metrics with key company financial metrics and goals.

  • Have your company’s performance dashboards (KPIs) critiqued.

  • Learn how to design a supply chain and logistics services performance dashboard, how to populate an existing dashboard, and how to conduct a financial justification analysis based on operational performance metrics and external benchmarks.

  • Learn about technology issues relative to performance measurement such as applications for building dashboards, mobile reporting, and big data analytics.

  • Develop transportation and distribution strategies to support business strategies

  • Understand basic transportation physics throughout the supply chain

  • Optimize last mile and long haul transportation planning

  • Design supply chain networks to optimize transportation costs and service

  • Better manage total transportation spending

  • Understand and manage variability that impacts transportation

  • Design a future state network based on lean principles

  • Learn the keys to strategic supplier management

  • Learn about the packaging design process, tools and how primary packaging consequences are amplified throughout the supply chain
